my dad is IMPOSSIBLE to buy for...

never know what to get him.

usually ends up being a good bottle of red wine - boring and predictable but at least i know he'll enjoy it...

^ yes, good idea there Liz.

Reminds me of that Seinfeld episode (or was it another show/comic) where they said, "once a man reaches the happiest period of his life, he wears the same clothes for the rest of his life."

So true.

Dosnt enjoy fishing as much as i do, plus we go together in his boat when ever im up there.

Dinner would be good but i cant fly up to coff's by sunday...

This year is my second fathers day, the first was only a couple of days after birth of my son... so i didn't get any goodies :(

For a present i want a lie in and a bottle of red i think.

A nice wine is always a nice pressie. Its fathers days, it dont need to be majorly significant present really?

Direktor - man if could, but getting him to wear them..... I spent a fair bit a few year back, great jeans, some good surf gear, that didn't look like he was trying to be 20, man he looked the bizness, he wore the shit once! we are talking about a man that will wear horizontal striped shirt and the checked shorts! Kills me, but funny as, he just doesn't care

damn my dad is difficult...

dvds - never watches them
golf, fishing, sports etc - not interested
books - doesn't read them (reads 4 diff newspapers a day but buying the newspaper doesn't really make such a great gift)
games - wouldn't touch them
day out stuff (hot air ballon etc) - would never use them, too busy - workaholic

:?

a few times i've just given him and his wife movie tickets and offered to baby-sit my little brothers so they can go out to dinner and see a film. it's been done SO many times now between both of their birthdays, christmas and fathers day. need something original!

My parent's, propably much like everyone elses, has already got everything they want and if they don't they buy it, so.....

For the last few years for mothers and fathers day, i record off vinyl some of their favourite artist's they don't have on cd, then i mastered (dehiss and eq) them up and burn them onto cd for them. This year the best of creedence clearwater revival. Mum now wants her own copy now.

Does that help for an idea ?

i could do but i'm pretty sure it's just a work covered cost for him already :(

same deal for me snowie - anything they want they've generally already bought so you have to get creative and do personal stuff. like the baby-sitting thing... :?

for his 60th i looked after the kids for 5 days while he and his wife went up to a spa resort in far north qld.

that was great for them to get a break from the kids for that long but i can't bring myself to do that every year :P

Using thw Wii remote, throw your mates off their game with four new taunting mechanisms. But when the tables are turned, will you choke under pressure?
