Just to make you all jealous...
SHIT HOT!!!
It was a fucking awesome night, I loved catching up with everyone back in Adelaide, and it was good to hear High Contrast in person after such a long, long, wait - 4 years since he played in Adelaide. He'd better not do that again, but after the reception I wouldn't be surprised if he's back within the year.
I think he's as good as Andy C. Different styles and level of skills obviously, but I love the short, sharp mixes high contrast does. It's always been my favourite mixing style to the longer techie style of mixing...
Sound could have been "punchier" - it felt like the bass was muted or something - Kind of like when you go from Record to CD - but it's still better from all reports from Good Vibes
So, so glad I extended my trip over for it... Locals John Doe and Well Being's set were also equally impressive...
It was great being back in Adelaide (notice I'm not calling it home ) - the one thing I miss about Adelaide being here in Melbourne is running into unexpected people at gigs (Such as old school friends and people like Dom from the Nextmen )
BTW: for any Melbourne promoters looking for decent Aussie talent I strongly recomend Well Being. He's got a new release out on Nookie / Zen, and is getting play from big names like Nookie, LTJ Bukem, Randall, Makoto and more. PM me for his details.
