that's a good weight loss plan kids, if the weather for ~ nye is anything like last year. 40+ degrees celcius and tents don't really mix.

good line up though.

Tickets are hard to come by as you have to go in a ballot. But I have a mate on the inside who can guarantee me tickets.
I would be interested in getting a crew together!

Heat and Rain can be an issue.. but I've been there for both and if you go prepared you will be fine.
They run a very slick operation down there these days.

My top 3 new years eves would all have to be down at Lorne for Falls.

ohhhh! The Kooks at Falls! Maybe that means a new year tour from them since the upcoming tour has sold out so quick?

Word. That heat was killer at the last Falls.

Jamie Lidell though. Would love to see that.

Falls was awesome last year. Hiked in and saved some money on the ticket price, bit of a mission but fun
Chip packets cut up that were the same colour as the wrist bands did the trick for the duration

Not really digging the lineup this time though...I had been thinking I would actually pay this time, knowing how great it was. But another hike might be in order if no other NY fests/parties are sounding good

I hiked in one year.. got out of car waaaay to early.. took 2 hours to smash through dense forest filled with blackberry bushes!
Legs were cut up good but I was thankful for the slab of beer I had on my back even if it was heavy!

Wasn't to save money, just left it too late to get tickets.

HAhah yeah same here, got pretty cut up and took a couple of hours, mainly cos my mate had to leave his ute somewhere it wouldn't get smashed/towed.

But yeah it was a late decision to even go, wsan't really just to save money, tix def weren't an option then

Fun times !

There's a good reason to have never been to Falls...

...because you spent all your NYE travels WISELY!

Man, Falls is bad. I've been three times and I gotta say that I've never been surrounded by so many idiots at once.

Plus as soon as it hits midnight, the electronic music takes over, and it's always really commercial and cheese driven CRAP!

They have the village, which was kind of cool a few years back... but really you could do a lot better on NYE than Falls.

Pyramid Rock #2 was really cool. They seem to be more keen on getting quality electronic acts. They had DJ Hype when I went, and the year following I think Sub Focus played.

But really, if you are going to go to Falls, just sneak in. I would be happy to provide detailed directions to anyone keen!

They don't need your money... ...you do. (Or I do)

oh yes indeed.. last year was a bit painful, changed out of jeans into shorts too early... ouched

also avoid the dickheads patrolling on dirt bikes, green/camo's maybe better than wearing bright red for example. they're pretty useless though all they do is tell you to piss off and that "you'll get kicked out anyway without a wrist band"
