Oblique Industries was formed by talented musician/composer Ryan Schofield in 2001. Almost hypnotically drawn to the Australian electronic music scene after years performing in various rock bands around Melbourne, Ryan still has a strong leaning toward live music. Oblique Industries’ combination of organic instruments including percussion, voice and guitars with electronic synths, samplers and drum machines, together with an electric onstage energy, sees his performances create a unique fusion of sound and visual style.

Releases include ‘War Against War EP (2002)’, ‘As Seen On TV (2003)’, and Oblique Industries’ first full-length album, ‘22’ (2005). Tracks from the album can be heard on radio and dancefloors around the world.

Ryan is currently working toward a new Oblique Industries record. As well as releases on his self-managed label, ‘Oh-One Records’, Oblique Industries tracks have been featured on numerous compilations. Certainly an act not to miss.

Ryan also hosts a radio program, playing a diverse selection of cutting-edge electronic music, on Melbourne radio station PBS FM.

MIKE CALLANDER
http://www.myspace.com/mikecallander

Mike Callander's experience as a DJ is as diverse as one of his sets. With a unique and edgy sound, and a versatile approach to mixing and programming, Mike is one of Melbourne's only DJs who might play to a house, techno or progressive dancefloor on any given night.

Mike has held long-standing residencies at some of Melbourne's most important clubbing institutions such as Sunny, Fokus, and Nano, and currently at Poison Apple and Pretty Simple, but perhaps his most treasured residency was at Honkytonks, for which he also recorded a mix CD “The Last Dance” that made its way into record stores across Australia and as far away as Japan.

Since then Mike has toured all across Australia and New Zealand, and as far afield as Berlin, Los Angeles, Madrid and Malaysia, playing alongside artists as diverse as Mathew Jonson, Michael Mayer, Radioslave, Agoria (at Berlin's Watergate), M.A.N.D.Y (both in Melbourne and Berlin), Alexkid, Optimo. Steve Bug, Sven Vaeth and Mr C (in Melbourne and Berlin), plus bands such as Fujiya & Miyagi (in Madrid), Booka Shade and Trentemoeller.

Mike feels this is all just the beginning, as he has just launched his label “Haul Music” alongside Christian Vance and Craig McWhinney, and signed further productions to various labels such as Junkbeats and Freakshow Disco Productions.
