May 15th brings the launch of a new night of deep Drum & Bass, its Influences and relatives. Resident DJs Joe Seven, Consequence and Dust will be drawing on the music that fits the mould. Focusing on Drum and Bass the music policy is simple; If it has some depth and soul it will be played. From Electronica and low slung Dubstep to Hip Hop, Detroit Techno and Minimal Soul, anything goes. For our launch we’ve asked Melbourne Dubstep pioneer AC23 to join us and lay down a deeper excursion into his sound.

Consequence aka Cam McLaren has been producing audioscapes since 2000, focusing on the minimal melodic sound within Drum and Bass. Turning heads of some the scene’s most respected DJs and Label owners, Look out for Dreadtone/Timeloss forthcoming on Darkestral Excursions, collaborations with Luca, Cern and material on dBridge’s Exit Recordings later in the year.

Joe Seven has been been a firm staple of the Melbourne Drum and Bass scene since 2001 pushing the deeper end of the spectrum. Resident DJ from the early Bassix events, Elementz, Operatives and Anytime parties. Regular guest at BBA, 33 1/3, Terrain and many more. Presenting Radio shows, Forward Focus on Kiss FM and Radio Terrain on Straightup.com.au. Now focused on production, Watch out for forthcoming music on Noisia’s Vision recordings.

Dust
DJ Dust has been making waves around the Melbourne scene for nearly 8 years now and is one of the scenes most established players. DJing and promoting International tours for the likes of Doc Scott, Marcus Intalex, Klute and Calibre to name a few. Resident for Elementz, Operatives and Anytime parties, Dust's repertoire doesn't stop at just DnB, extending herself with versatility into Hip Hop and Dubstep sets at various events and current residencies at Black Cat and Workshop.

AC23 [UK, Formant Recordings]
AC23 is widely known as one of the pioneers of Melbourne’s now flourishing Dubstep scene. Resident DJ at Wobble he has played alongside some of the biggest hitters such as Benga, Skream, Kode 9, Digital Mystikz, Cotti, Scuba, Mark Pritchard and more. Regular guest spots at Void in Sydney, Heavy innit, Too Much, Rolling Deep and a wealth of others makes AC23 one of the most in demand selectors in town. The production front is looking bright with “Love Her” out now on Formant Recordings and more beats forthcoming in the near future.

Lorna Clarkson [Syd, RBMA/Index]
Lorna has been playing music in clubs for some time now (14 years and counting), on her radio show (Under The Influene: Fbi 94.5 fm -Mondays 9pm), as well as writing about it (Pagesonline.it) and promoting it (Red Bull Music Academy).
Interested in the deeper, edgier, soulful elements of new and old music in styles ranging from jazz to hip hop, drum n bass, house, dub, techno, soul, folk & electronica. Her music policy is simple, if it's got feeling, it belongs here.
