My DVD drive in my laptop has decided to stop reading data from DVD's.

Doesn't sound very good, like the data bus or something. Funny though cause data would still need to be taken of the disc to play a DVD. Could be software(windows) based problem.

Do a google on it maybe, what make is it?
Don't forget to bring a towell!!

are you using any 'region free' copyright remover type program???
I was using CSS+Region Free on my system; proper version: I paid money for it and everything, and things between my CD/DVD drives went very awry.

Could be conflict between multiple player/burner software also

this was what happened in my own experience
