I went to Phat 05 last NYE.
Takaka Hill is totally beautiful but the drive down when totally wasted was *eeek*
It also rained and rained which was 'orrible.
The vibe was great though, real friendly locals, heaps of trippers, heaps of people saying "Weeeyyyrreee on Huurrbbuullls aaayyee" coz pills were like gold dust..
The tunes owned, BC playing "the nine" at midnight was fucking wicked out in the open air...
anyting test - dead!

Anyone that went to the Phat party last nye, what was the sound like?
I had friends that went and said it wasn't the best...way too quiet...I guess its hard out under the stars to get sound like you would in a club but still with a line up like that you would hope it would be fairly large...
(Rippon after party when Concord Dawn played was sorted for sound so its definitly possible)

Mind you being home under the stars with a line up like that reliving old Gathering memories would be sweet any which way really :D

how does that work, If he's on his way out, how can he get deported..
If he's on his way in, he's already there, he wouldve got nabbed before he left when they weighed his gear.
I think the "extra carry on luggage" refer to the nature of the luggage and not the weight?

I dunno, maybe I'm reading something there that I shouldnt!

in my time at bdo and now amad i've had four of my acts busted entering nz with illegals... nz customs is one of the toughest there is.

standard thing is they can get deported immediately or they can stay and do their gig but make a court appearance the next week... each time with mine we've just had them deported straight away and skipped the nz shows.

i've still managed to get those acts back into nz again though and into australia even with their record.

if you know what you're doing with immigration you can get anyone in no matter what their history is. i've had some people with full on drug reords and even assualt records etc and i've got them in no probs.

you just need to know the immigration precedures and how to approach things in the right way...

ps. 33&1/3 nyd breakbeat bbq line up announced soon - it's gonna be huge!! :D :D 8)

I'll be doing an 8 hour set in my bedroom if anybody wants to come along. details TBA but the supports I've booked are mad (trust me). There will be a second room if I sell enough tickets (most likely the hall cupboard). Fully stocked bar at nice prices and I wont kick you out for having "illegal" substances. Could get a bit squashy but I'm thinking I might install a mezzanine. There is also a sweet outdoor area (on the laundry roof). This is gunna be party of the year..... ;)
