No matter, it's still a terrible way to have your life ended. I can think of far more worthy recipients fro lead surgery.

Yeah I know. Everyone has their opinion, but Eminem is without doubt one of the best lyricists EVER IMO (and a lot of others). Whereas Proof, was... kinda his sidekick (at the risk of speaking ill of the dead).
RIP all the same.

yeh, i try to avoid best rapper type arguments because its so subjective, but i think i could make a pretty good objective case for eminem being superior to proof. Eminem > aceyalone or someone like that would be more difficult to argue without resorting to "he sounds better".

Fucking shattered. Not cos he's dead, to be honest i really couldn't give a fuck less about that, but now Eminem and the remainder of D12 are prolly gonna cash in by making shithouse tribute songs and release 4 albums of his unreleased, rejected and shelved garbage a-la Tupac and Biggie.

you know, I thought exactly the same thing. seemed a little TOO scripted.
still, there a such things as coincidences.

I don't see how it's "scripted" at all...
He was Eminem's best mate from early days - stands to reason he's gonna be his best man.
The movie 8 Mile was shot there, coz that's where they grew up - hardly suprising that that's where they may end up dying also.

Proof was pretty gangsta - I can't see how this is really scripted.

it's BECAUSE he was pretty gangsta that it seems scripted. Just like Hunter S Thompson committing suicide.
It's so obvious it feels wrong.

argue about this with me if you want, but.... are they really gangsters???
these guys are fricken millionaires!
stuff like this happening just makes it APPEAR like they have a connection with the bad neighbourhoods they (supposedly) come from....
I don't wanna sound like a cunt, but.... they drive big fancy cars, live in big fuck off houses and rap about how hard life is....
and, like someone else said, D12 are going to profit from this big time...
I'm not trying to take anything away from him, I think he was pretty damn good....
but "gangsta rap" to me, pretends to be something its not....
50c fucking playstation game???? gimme a break!!! a no one gives a fuck you got shot 9 times

Gangsta my ass. Just cos someone came from a rough neighbour hood and maybe sold a couple of rocks before selling albums and living the easy life does not make them a gangster. If he had of been Italian, grew up in the Bronx and his last name Gotti or Castellano THEN I'd call them gangsters.

gangsta/thug - the technicalities are irrelevant ... at the end of the day he'd roll you if he needed to ... well, if he was alive.
