MB: Can you feel the love?
Hi all. Long time reader, minimal poster here (although this is sure to change)... Just wanted to say hi to all, and remark on what a cool little cyber community Lucas and Karl and all you members have going... I only remark since I saw djboganofbeatz post a couple of threads asking for advice on DJing etc... Any other forum, and he would have been run out of town already with cries of 'fark off n00b' etc etc, but there has been nothing but friendly advice given... The way it should be!
PLUR is alive on MB! (OK, Ive just invited some flaming there!) Keep up the good work!
Ill be on here a fair bit, so feel free to say hi... Ill be plugging some gigs here and there aswell as trying to generally add some senseless drivel (sp?) where it is possibly wanted, but more than likely not...
MB spreading the NICEness over the internerd!

i was thinking about this last night actually.
id been explaining to a friend why i spend so much time on here and then later was thinking just how rad this place is.
i dunno any other music forum where you can discuss such a wide range of topics and in such an intelligent and mature manner. everyone respects everyone elses opinions and any disagreement is voiced in a constructive way with no degenerating to name calling or anything.
big ups everyone!

New Hampshire's alright if you like fighting.
BrB: Thanks man, I know someone had to do it!!!
Lizkins: I do indeed know Timmy G, spoke to him for the first time in a while on Thursday, and briefly saw him at 33 1/3... Is he still DJing at all?
Friday: Hey! I had a ball thanks... Only saw A-skillz which was all I went for, but he tore it up! Loved every minute of his set... I was looking for you to say hi, but couldnt see you... Didnt see Melle either, just her hair.. Thanks again to both of you for the hookup... Ill do my best to come past the office soon and say hi!
mrj: Thanks for the welcome. Ill work on picking up an extra consonant from somewhere.. But it wont be G, K, or E, and R is already taken!

We met like ages ago, and you got pissed off at me cos i was being a right bitch one night. Came to visit on the occasion at your work when you guys worked off Chapel Street near the circus place with Flynn.

I think most people here (myself included) have a "if you can't say anything constructive then don't say anything" approach.... The mods are also people the the majority of us have met in person and have a certain level of trustworthyness, rather than just being the most popular people (although they are that too (I'm lookin' at you GM )). Name calling and put downs are just not tolerated by any of the mods (or the other users for that matter).....
In short, this place rocks!!!

is it a Daily thing for most ppl?
Being from Tassie and part of the Digitalthugz massive its refreshing to see NEW posts everyday! risky will know what im on about
8 am - arrive at work, check overheardinnewyork.com and overheardintheoffice.com
8:30ish - melbeats
- pretend to work/check stuff on comp. whilst oh so sneakily reading and posting on melbeats
4:30 - go home
the days my internets fucked and melbeats wont load i feel completely lost. im going to write a tv series about being on a plane that lands on a weird island that has polar bears and people who steal children and i go crazy cause i cant read melbournebeats and let a timer run down and the island blows up and i tame a polar bear that has a laptop grafted into its back and ride it out into the ocean in search of one of those underground data cable things i can hack into and check the forums

Don't ever, ever feel uncomfortable about quoting Tyrone Biggums here. Me and Almax got yo back on that one.MJ wrote:I could drop the best Tyrone Biggins quote here, but since I dont know any of you that well, Ill refrain for now....
Also, welcome to the forums.
Ok. Going to have to bust this one open. Everyone has been giving such glowing reports. MB.C seems so sweet and so pure. Yeah, whatever. We all like the same kind of music, discussions and random word threads. But, seriously, I can't let you walk innocently into the cult without realising you have to give your hypothetical first born to the dodgy old man in the corner.
I give you this equation. Ignore it at your peril.
GM + MrJ / (discussion) = J-lobe vaccum / [{sense of bewilderment} brain imploding]
Nuff said.
I wanted to be a hero. I wanted to be the center of attention. I wanted the glory, I wanted the fame. I wanted the pretty girls to come up and say, "Hi, I see that you're good at Centipede."
Thanks to all for the warm welcome! I think Im going to like it here...
Mecka, thanks for the heads up... Although Tyrone Biggins quotes are few and far between, Chapelle in general is an endless source!!
Keenie, good to know Im not the only one.. We can look out for each other and defend one another against the more entrenched and learned MB massive...
