His latest release "jaku" was a cracker, heaps better than the so-so "message at the depth". Saw him recently, such a quick DJ, Hard to believe the guy is like 40 years old
If your into music at all
go see this guy DJ

I love how they've used the exact same poster as the last time he played in Melbourne. Only thing that's changed is the dates and support artists lol.

the colours changed!
it was black - brown / white / gold last time
that was just such good artwork and people just remember krush with that art so it made sense to run with the same style....
the flyer from two years ago was awesome too

He plays a variety of pretty electronica from breaks to housey stuff, correct me if I'm wrong, but yeah, he's a really sick dj.

production is mostly downbeatinstumental hip hop- its fairly atmospheric, but stong beats. Has done production with all sorts- and inlcudes albums with a horn player over the top.
He uses a lot of sampling of various sounds in his sets, from nature to tripped out industirial, it has a lot of effects on it, but the man is a magician with two tables, sampler and a few effects, he creats journies into sound as much as danceable sets of music- but it is all hip hop based.
Has a catalogue of some 10 albums or so, pretty diverse, but all with the same Krush stamp of "japtasticism" (new word). His scratching is somewhat alienistic like Qbert, but has a much more musical base...
imo and from what i know...

i reckon downbeat instrumental melodic hip hop is the best description.
he's a super talented turntablist as well as amazing producer.
he's a crazy guy too! 42! has a 20 yr old daughter!
used to be in the yakuza... no shit...

I worship the ground he walks on.
When I grow up, I want to be like DJ Krush.
