Hey People,
I have gotten bored with english homework soo ive come to a decision that im going to start making some drum n bass choons.
Is there any specific beats that the kick should drop on in DnB?
If so what are they??
Also what is a typic dnb beat made up of??
Eg. what beats does the snare, hi hat drop on?
Cheers,
Noob wanting tips on producing DnB

Best thing to do (for any genre) is find a few tracks you like and pull them apart, in terms of drum arrangement, song arrangement, parts, instruments etc. Also good advice is to try to not write *for* a genre, just write what feels good to you. Of course in practice you end up taking inspiration from certain genres so it can't hurt to deconstruct them.

Hit up "the grid" and check out "the grid threads of interest" sticky.
There's more juicy production info on DOA than you ever could want, once you dig past the crusty layer of forum bullshit smeared over the top.
There are absolute gems of info in there though, particularly in the Q&As.
And where else can you read a reply post from Teebee himself after being flamed for knocking Reason in some random mag interview?
Awesome...
