Yes. Maybe it is the answer to all my problems.

Thanks for the suggestions too System. Half-Nelson does look good and getting good reviews too.

Scripticles on 300 being ordinary.

In fact the more I think about it the more I think that it wasn't a very good movie. It was entertaining enough, but it was very over done, and thus difficult to handle. Basically it was just gratuitous nudity and violence, usually a good formula to keep me watching but this time it fell flat.

Kinda crap. And Dust agreed on the goat playing flute. Made NO sense.

The goat was a dude wearing a Goat head as a.. "hat/mask".

The movie follows the comic almost perfectly. The dialogue is almost word for word. What did people expect??

I saw Children of Men & Munich over the weekend

Children of Men was awesome, very well executed.

Munich was about an hour too long, but the first hour & a half was interesting

I don't think it's that sinister, the story was roughly base in historical events. I mean the bad guys have to be from somewhere with some kind of skin tone right?

watched Children of Men and 300

Children of Men - me liked but also felt some unanswered questions. Dunno, just made up my own answers really based on current situation (like women become more infertile due to environment/times changing and IVF gets cancelled or something...blahg blah blah). Still, not bad idea at all...though done in other movies...but still good. End scenes were def impressive!

300 - WOOOOHOOOO loved it! stab stab stab. Go slow-motion action scenes to the MAX! Yeah! Woooo! No really i like them. I thought it was a pretty sweet as film to watch, especially at IMAX!!! *two thumbs up*

really??

nope i loved it.

all pastel and candy coloured, the veneer of suburbia thinly veiling the fact that everynoe is in therapy and on drugs.

and then, when the balance is upset, some who lose it for the worse, and others who sit in the afternoon sunlight and get realisations they never would have otherwise.

i love movies about suburbia, and how underneath, its more fucked up than any delfin ad would ever admit.

my two cents!

Seemed to me the message of the film was: Taking copious amounts of mood altering pharmaceuticals all the time is a bad thing.

Um. Der. Thanks for that.

After about a hundred films pointing out the corruption beneath the veneer in suburban society, if you want to do it again you've got to do it in a witty or novel manner, and I feel they comprehensively failed to do either in this case.

And what the fuck was with that guy with the dolphins? Was he supposed to be a sympathetic character? He needed a punch in the face.

finally got around to seeing the following

Casino Royale - great, loved it, tho the last part seemed a lil out of place, like a second movie had started.

The Departed - awesome, never looked away.

The Prestige - wooooo, awesome again, great acting except for some of the accents haha.

The Illusionist - a strange film, but very good, had a fairy tale feel to it. recommend

The Fountain - wow, like a dream sequence, i wwas thinking about it for days after. see it!

Sorry stray... hadn't read the comic. He did a great job on Sin City... and I enjoyed the angles and comic-book likeness of the shots, but I actually went to the cinema to see The Host and it had finished, so I saw 300 as a ring-in.

Hence the not-so-much.

thats exactly what I thought! Durin the cliche cop fight scenes, I was thinking how they could have takin it further. Just seemed a bit half assed to me. So muhc unusued cinama potential in grannies weilding automatic weapons, they could have milked that.

happiness is in my top ten, bad boy buby was all filmed in adelaide and friedns of mine worked on it.
it a good aussie film, but im a kitty lover, could not handle the glad wrap scene at ALL.

garden state was NOWHERE near as good as chumscrubber.

im not interested in 300 really, and casino royale felt like id just wasted two hours of my life...

Little Miss Sunshine was grand, thought it was a lovely way to spend an afternoon. Loved the grandpa.

Sunshine looks like every other "are you saying we're not alone out here?" type movie (a'la Sphere, Event Horizon etc). It looks pretty, but I reckon I'd spend half the movie doing this:

Let me know if it's worth seeing

I've liked pretty much every film Danny Boyle's made, so I'm kinda keen to see Sunshine. Cillian Murphy (sp?) is awesome too. The next Ewan McGregor?

hehehe not nesscarily!

but i am interested in the movie, for the fact that the director put the possible cast in a room and asked them who else they would sleep with, and the people who said they would sleep with the most people got the roles!

i have friends in the make-sexy-time film industry and do have a bit of an interest in porn movies that might actually have a plot and some meaning, it is possible!!!

not to mention Alex Garland writing the screenplay for Boyle (again). "Sunshine" gets my vote just for the presence of that trio, then the addition of Rose Byrne for the OOOOOH!!!
