I've thought about the whole Facebook thing lately.
And I figure I will just do a few random things to make my date less usable. Kind of lame, but its pretty darn effective for catching up with random people I don't see on a day to day level.

sure, but if you post pics of everywhere you go etc, you may as well have a GPS attached.

you are aware that the agreement at the beginnig you sign means they hold the rights to everything you put up there, to use for advertising even, even if you delete your account?

I sincerely cannot think of any instance where anyone would use my image to promote any of those causes without my permission and if they did it would not only be hilarious I'd get to make a big fuss about it in the media and damage the integrity of their campaign.

I figure anything that's on a website is public domain and so the same rules apply as for anything I do IRL in public.

Re: The whole privacy/ facebook / marketing thing.

I change my mind on this all the time.
Why wouldn't I want advertising specified at me? If I have to cope it, may as well be relevant.
Why would I care who can know things about me? Except if they are going to steal my identity, but I don’t have that much to give.
I am not so interesting that it would be worth anyone while, except maybe a freak, but if they want me they are going to be able to do it one way or the other, this just makes it easier for them, so why not help a sister out.
Funny people critising it when some people on here post much more than just where they have been, but where they work, who their X’s are, what a happening in that relationship, business deals they have done, people they have had falling outs with, where they are going, what they look like etc. If someone wanted something from you it is all here.
I got no problem with any of it, it is all your choice, my only issue with all of this is people should be aware of the choice they are making. And that should be made clear to them by the people offering the choice, no small print, no having to go and find out information, it should be laid out clearly and responsibly by any provider.
Sure, some responsibility falls on the individual, but I think more clarity of information is required.

if you are worried about organisations using your data, then get rid of your google/yahoo!/hotmail/aim/aol/etc accounts, only use encrypted connections (+ use pki as much as possible) and stay off the internet as much as possible.

facebook is the least of your problems in this regard.

assuming the cia had the time and energy to specifically target you for some reason in the first place.

OK, so I went to Bimbo Delux and it wasn't as bad as you guys made out in terms of service, but waiting around for a table sucks especially when you can't book, and also they need more chairs.

We headed to Black Cat after... nice cosy little place with a cool little DJ set up...

I was wondering, how does one get gigs at these little places? Is giving a demo going to cut it, or are they "who you know" type of deals?

They have a lot of sport on the tele there, and it's actually a nice pub. I enjoy eating & drinking there.
