DOPE! this lad is doing rather well for himself these days.
He used to run a night very wobble-esque in Brisbane that slammed drum n bass into brisbane's face on a monthly rotation in a refurbished wine cellar. It was the BOMB!

Re: WOBBLE preents OPERON (QLD) // SAT 18 OCT // HEARTICAL HIFI
Out of all the Wobble parties so far I'm probably more excited to see Operon play than anyone else we've had. This guy is on top of his game in terms of selection, mixing and production. Should be a great night. I'll be giving away some double passes tonight on Drum 'n' Bass Sessions - Kiss 87.6FM - 11pm-12:30am.
Re: WOBBLE preents OPERON (QLD) // SAT 18 OCT // HEARTICAL HIFI
yes, looking well forward to this
y'all should check his show on Bassdrive-although it's on same time as Forward Focus, he always archives it on the myspace (refer uly's post for linkage)...

Here's a link to the latest releases from Operon's label Golden Orb Records. Bigup local boy ATP with his tune 'Struggle' on there. I know what you mean man.
http://www.junodownload.com/ppps/produc ... 982-02.htm
a) CRIX & OPERON - 'ELEVEN'
b) LM1 - 'CITY LIGHTS'
c) ATP - 'STRUGGLE'
d) FLIRT WITH DIRT - 'TAKEN TO REVERIE'
A - CRIX & OPERON - 'ELEVEN' :
Up-beat liquid drum'n'bass action from a production partnership that was always going to deliver! Teaming up once again after their joint release on Nookies Phuzion records, Italian based Crix and Australia's Operon have combined their skill to come up with a solid dance-floor roller that will please both liquid and jump-up fans alike. Operon provides the tight production in the drums and bass, whilst Crix pushes the musical side with her delicate synth work and jazz influenced chord progressions. The track provides interest with inter-changing musical themes and lead melodies whilst keeping the dance-floor moving with an energetic bass-groove. Look out for more collaboration from these two in the near future.
B - LM1 - 'CITY LIGHTS' :
Deep & atmospheric drum'n'bass with a dance-floor edge courtesy of Scotland's LM1. This producer has been making waves recently in the atmospheric drum'n'bass scene with a string of rapid-fire releases on top shelf labels such as 'Covert Operations' and 'Red Mist'. We at 'Golden Orb' are privileged to have a man of this calibre on board and 'City Lights' is definitely up there. Sweet progressive melodies and dreamy washed out synth chords are accompanied by a solid two-step drum pattern and a solid bass groove to get ya shufflin'. If your a fan of the modern take on atmospheric dnb then make sure this one gets into your record bag.
C - ATP - 'STRUGGLE' :
Deep and soulful dnb straight out of Australia! Melbourne producer ATP has been churning out the goods lately and each tracks getting better and better! ATP has recently seen a 2 track release on top digital label 'Liquid Brilliants', a forthcoming release on European label 'Influenza Media' and is now set to showcase his skills on Australian label 'Golden Orb'. 'Struggle' kicks off with a light rolling drum-pattern layered with ATP's trademark filtered jazz and soul samples before we are introduced to the vocal snippets during the dreamy breakdown. When the track rolls in you wont be disappointed; this is the warmest bass-line drop we've had on the label so far! This is a track that is sure to please fans of the modern jazz influenced producers such as red-eyes and Furney.
D - FLIRT WITH DIRT - 'TAKEN TO REVERIE' :
Top notch liquid drum'n'bass with next level production from New Zealand partnership Flirt with Dirt. Engineer Steven Macnaughtan and keys/vocalist Natalie Keys flex their creative muscles and have come up with a dnb tune so full of hooks and vibe the dance-floor will be swinging in full effect. The intro builds nicely with spooky keyboard melodies and vocal snippets before a hip-hop influenced break-down leads us into the action. When 'Taken to reverie' drops there's plenty to keep you groovin' with musical themes, melodies, synths and arrangement hooks that are becoming the trade-mark sound of these talented New Zealanders!

Friday night malfunction!
Credits to all involved.. Heartical crew, Cubist, the local line up (& visuals) and Operon, made for a fun night.
Major respect to Moe & Miller... for being one arm bandits and still helping out!
Needs less footpath scatter though... hope the photos that the jacks took out front aren't used to support a lock in/lock out and are only for advertising Melbourne's wonderful culture!
Was LJ before AC23?... didn't look but was enjoying the tunes from afar!!
