Oh snap. Your right.
Gears of War 2 designer Cliff Bleszinski said that the reason there was not going to be a PC version of the game was simple; high-end users.

"The PC right now is a fair amount different to what it was back in the day, with all the badly integrated video chips," said Cliff.

"Here's the problem right now; the person who is savvy enough to want to have a good PC to upgrade their video card, is a person who is savvy enough to know bit torrent to know all the elements so they can pirate software. Therefore, high-end videogames are suffering very much on the PC."
Oh well, this may be the deciding factor in me getting a 360. once i get some cash. :|

I'm positive I saw that JB are doing the elite package with 4 free games (Halo 3, Mass Effect, and 2 others can't remember).

So, played the Mirror's Edge demo, really fun, basically just feels like a first person Assassin's Creed or Prince Of Persia in relation to the movement. It's extremely exhilarating to run away from enemies with skill, bashing down doors, leaping over rooftops, swinging from bars. And if one's in your way, beat the crap out of them while you're running, or disarm them frmo their gun and then use it to kill his buddy :).

And oh yes, Left 4 Dead, co-op is gonna be sick!

There are plenty of games that I've enjoyed that haven't reviewed well. But granted, it hasn't always been the actual gameplay that has brought me the most enjoyment, more the story, writing, art style or setting.

Pity about the length of Mirror's Edge though, I found it fun, refreshing, and very bold in it's art style. The soundtrack is lush, the world is well rendered, the total lack of anything resembling a HUD keeps the focus on the action and where you're supposed to take your parkour abilities next. I don't think I'd pay full price for the length of that title, but it will certainly be a goer once the price drops a little bit....orrrrrrr...you could do an EB scam, buy, finish, return, get something else :D

Thank god for that...

30 hours on Fable 2 and 60 hours on Fallout 3 mean I've got a pile of games to review and only a week to play them now :smt107

Picked up COD 5 today. As someone obsessed with WW2, and having never really played a WW2 shooter before, I reckon it's pretty mental. Multiplayer is awesome too!

I LOVE WW1 and WW2 shooters. mainly because the guns are klunky and have a real limited amount of bullets, makes ammo conservation far more important. Much more fun than running around burning through the infinite amount of clips available as with most modern shooters.

I've always wondered how such games are marketed in germany? do they still play allies? or do they play axis and use the same maps but start from the other side?

if they do play allies do they ever feel weird being in a game charging around killing their grandfathers?

COD 3 was pure bliss, loved every second of that game. the rag doll of characters was blissful, the guns were great, ammo scarce, the maps so fucking interesting. so good.

I reckon multiplayer on them is mental too. really really levels the playing field amongst players.

COD 5 should be a treat.

Most of them aren't.

Most WWII games get the equivalent of our Refused Classification.

Unlike Australia though, the Germans can drive for an hour, be in another country, and buy games there.

Apparently the cymbals are defective and you can send them back for a replacement.

Lol ww1, does that just involve shooting out of a ditch once in a while, then rushing over said ditch and dieing.. repeat.

COD1 good. COD2 great. COD3 shit. COD 4 awesome.
COD 5 disappointing single player, awesome co-op and multiplayer exactly the same as COD4.. so, is awesome.

Their classification is stricter across the board. Is it still no "red" blood?
And was it wolfenstein where they replaced the germans with aliens?? I don't remember which game that was.

German censorship and classification for games is severe. A very high percentage of games need to be modified for release, or are not released at all. Pretty strange from the country that gave the world scat.

finished main mission of fallout 3. kinda went by a bit quickly tbh, a lot more so than say oblivion which seemed to go on for ages.

also i didn't like how once you finish the main mission, thats it game over. theres a big chance that most people reach the end of the main mission without having explored the full map. So to do so you gotta go back and play the whole thing again? ghey!

it was still a pretty sick game tho

the letter writing is all i'm in it for. the prose composition b2b pressing bed sores between the pages b2b sealing the makeshift envelope with blood, tears and weeping wounds.

pure joy and historically accurate too.

Werd!

I've got tons of sidequests that I really should start getting done, goddamn the map is huge. I keep on entering every building that I come across thinking "this'll just be a quick exploration". I went into some National Archives building and ended up teaming up with this chick exploring the whole building, blowing away super mutants and robots looking for the Declaration of Independence to sell to some dude in Rivet City. She has an Ultra SMG though, so I'm considering killing her to get the weapon

But then again, her extra firepower is nice. Kind of useless in tight indoor spaces, gets hit way too easily making me use up Stimpacks on her, but outdoors she totally chops enemies up with that SMG. I hope the game gives me a hint as to when to try and explore the map as much as possible and finish up my sidequests. You know, "You might want to tie up any loose ends, because there's no turning back after this point" kind of thing.

yeh, I was kinda not paying attention. they did kinda say "hey this is it, anything else ya wanna do", but i sorta didn't think that you would get to the end and that would be it, but rather be able to keep playing (like obliviion) so didn't worry about it. FAILOUT!

yeh deffo kill the chick. the game will ocassionally give ya helpers. yeh i find they can be a real pain in the ass sometimes but others they kick ass.

fuck i dont think i ever found the ultra smg. sounds sick.

mind you i didn't find a lot of guns. i found a fat boy or whaterver its called, but couldn't cough up for mini nukes, so never used it.

which is potentially why killing super mutant behemoths took me 10 minutes of playing playing cat and mouse, except with a missile launcher.

I'm not left handed.... it's just from years of playing Golden-eye with "solitaire" dual control style that has conditioned me to that way.... very hard to undo.... most games you can set it up the same and I'm sweet... COD4 Far Cry2 etc etc .... all have this as an option... fallout doesn't, you can change all the other buttons but not the control sticks....

I don't think I'd even bother in that circumstance... shits me
