Pisses me off so much. all i ever get matched up with in games are american hosts. It sucks!

GTA 4 online is Tres Cool though.

Lost Oddesy was the bomb too. Only got like a lil way in. But was amazing.

Depends on the game. Gears of War 2 matches you with local players as do a lot of the newer games.

GOW is good that way. Horde is awesome!

But SF2 HD is almost IMOPOSSIBLE to play online.

combination PC/phone issue, can I have some help plez???

Trying to upload the videos from my phone to PC. Using newest version of Nokia PC Suite. Connected correctly, did the upload but the video comes out all digital and wonky, can't make out an image at all. The pics came out all good. That was using the "transfer pics and video" option.

Then I tried the video manager to upload the videos, that didn't work either. Tried to then back up the entire phone contents, all sections failed. Disconnected and then tried to look at the video's on the phone itself. All of a sudden it's running at dialup speed and takes about 3 minutes to effect any keystroke in the Gallery section. Switched it off, took out the battery, and pout it back...still nothing.

Have a card reader here too, tried that as well. The Nokia files transferred as mp4's and again, same wonky unviewable output.

Any suggestions? It's an N70.

L4d sucks balls for matching up with local games on xbox live, I always have red bars. I get booted a lot and sometimes it is unplayable even in a custom party with aussies. My friends however don't have the same issues when playing with aussies. I do manage to play a fair bit with red lag though and 75% of games are playable, still glad I bought it though and I get a lot of online play out of it. Could be just my ISP, dunno.

Depends what u wanna do with it, forget about it if u wanna run any high end apps, it looks similar to those eee pc's which are pretty basic and only really good for word processing and internet etc. That's how the windows ones perform though so may perform better with Linux.

looks good, go for it. i'd use xubuntu - xfce is much more lightweight than gnome for netbooks.

I think pc usually refers to windows computers, u can put windows on macs now too. I'm pretty sure all linux distrobutions are free, should be able to d/l from their site.

IBM = pc (even though HEAPS of other manufactures made them (windows (microsoft) pcs)

vs

Apple = mac(intosh)

then it was

intel = pc (even though there were other manufactures of PC cores (ie: amd)

vs

mac (who used their own processor (funnily enough called "power pc")

......

now apple use intel chips anyway.... so, you shouldn't call things by brands and stuff......

it is ubuntu, but uses a more lightweight window manager than gnome (which the default ubuntu uses). there's a laptop orientated version of ubuntu, so your friend could ue that for the install.

from what ive read, asus has more ram and room to put even more in, but is smaller screen and heavier...and smaller keyboard and as i type real fast with two fingers, maybe want the bigger keyboard of the MSI..

i checked out the 9 inch Asus and it was too small! the keyboard jsut looked ridiculous...
but they do have a 10 inch that looks better, but is around $700/750 but also has 180 gb i think so bigger!

cant find ANY stores with MSI's to look at yet...want to touch one!

now im being told this is the absolute best one >>

the hp has a better keyboard and audio video output, but can only be expanded to 1gb of ram and is heavier than the asus and msi models mentioned.

i think Hp is one of those things where your paying for the brand...and dont want it any heavier, no!
you cant pick them up in the shops they are wired down with so much shit. annoying.

so its looking like the Asus EEEPc 1000HA or HD might be the go...will have to hunt one down to check out.

you're not really just paying for the brand. hp (and to a lesser extent, sony) tend to be a shit of a lot than the rest. dell in particular are cheap and abysmal. ibm used to have a price premium for being genuinely fantastic quality and utterly indestructible, but they've gone to shit recently. c'est la vie.

im getting the Asus EEEpc 1000H, the hp netbook only has 60Gb, too slow for hyperactive kitty!
and i cant find anyone who reccomends either the fujitsu or the MSI...

i have spoken to every geek i know and quite a few i dont know (they love me picking their brains!)

and EVERYONE says Asus is the best brand in the world.
