I'm often amazed that the going price for a g of green has remained unchanged from when I was 15yo to now, 14 years later.

Put your inflation on top, and that's quite a saving!

Meanwhile $1 worth of mixed lollies looks nothing like it used to back then, although it's much quicker for the corner shop lady to put it together.

hehe this is going to sound fucking, nerdy as nerd can get, but I remember staying home from school, pulling sickies, and, rugging up with the blanket on the couch and watching channel 2 (Abc) educational kids programs alllllll day and loving and learning heaps of silly shit that never came in handy anywhere except to piss people off, and, then at 5:00 Widget and Captain planet would come on, or Degrassi Juniour High.

Today on the radio they had a 'bringing your kids to work' segment, which was funny because when I got to work someone had brought their kid in and it made me think about when I used to go to my dads work, and how my aunty who also worked there had games on her computer and my cousin had put Mortal Kombat on it I think but it ran slower than a obese kid trying to run away from cake.

I always thought it was just a funny extension of the actual flavour - razz = rasberry, orange = explosion, cola = glug the king of all sunnyboys.

unless you know something i dont Brain.

Nah, I don't know anything about anything.

Still confused though as to why cola and the word glug go together. I know that a glug is a gurgling sound as of liquid issuing from a bottle but why is that associated with cola?

Also, wasn't there a green sunnyboy once upon a time? If so, what was it called?

Questions like these, seemingly trivial yet important, are why the internet was invented.

cant remember the green one and im 29!

i reckon the cola one contains more cordial/ice ratio and when u finally finish it you end up with more of that glug goodness at the end....the best bit.

You could be right about the cordial/ice ratio in a glug.

BTW I just googled 'green sunnyboy' and two separate accounts recall it as being called either a 'Zap' or a 'Zapp'. Then someone else weighed in with a 'Zap' being purple!

Sunnyboy controversy!

I have a problem with "blue heaven" as a flavour for milk. For anything actually.

At least with something raspberry or other fruit flavoured there's a slight possibility they're using real fruit. I have yet to see a blue heaven tree.

Fake natural flavours ftw

You know what I miss as far as flavoured milk goes, or atleast I havent been able to find personally for ages.

Its choclate mint milk. Its not Big M its another brand, in a brown bottle, not rush, but one of those brands. It was really rich and choclatey and minty, I miss that

Needs more retro ice creams
Barney banana was rad, I know banana paddle pop is probably identical, but it doesn't have a monkey on the wrapper now does it
Used to cane the GI Joe ice creams from my cousin's milk bar in Preston too. Yum
Anyone rememeber Feast?? They were cool
And also the Crunchie ice creams, or do they still make those???
And the Bubble-o-Bills with the sub standard cowboy messages on the gumball. They were all like "Howdy Pardner" and "Nice Shot"
loltown

@ NA.....i think the mint choc milk you're on about was "Classic"....dunno if they're still around

Aroes I think your absolutely right.

Also it might interest you to know that Vega Fm launched a petition to bring back the Barney Banana ice creams. I have no idea what they are and have never had one but I listen to Vega at work because it's all my cheap radio picks up. Anyways, they got the apropriate number of signatures and so now the manufacturers are bringing 4 samples into the studio (They may have allready) as a test run, and I think the Barney Banana is making a come back. Turns out the manufactorers didn't jerry how popular it was. I still don't know what it is. If they actually do make a full come back tho I might have to try one.

You know what, I got an Italian mum, and an Italian girlfriend, and the best thing happend the other day, ice cream related.

My mum, over the Christmas period went to this traditional Italian shop and got these traditonal Italian ice creams. Tartuffo's and shit. Now, it's unbelievably rare for her to get these, infact it's only been like 3 times in my whole life, starting from like, early last year. So, she found this Italian Ice Cream underground secret shop and I was wrapped because before I was only able to get these ice creams are weddings and reception events. I told my girlfriend, and, she runs off alllllll these names she knows of where you can buy these traditional Italian ice creams. Let me tell you, that women just got 1 step closer to a ring.

I was so happy because now I can have good Ice Cream :D .

All those icecreams as a kid that we'd only get at weddings and shit, are now available to me and a whole new world of desert has opened up to me. It's like when your a kid and hear music you like and you don't know what it is then you grow up and find out its Techno or House or Trance or Breaks and you have no idea as a kid where to get it, but as a grown up, you have all this access to it and it's like "THE WORLDS MY OYSTER NOW BIATCHES!!!"

Right now, the world is my Casarta, my Tartuffo and my Forbidden Apple ;)

Bubble-o Bill's are still around. Don't think they have messages on the bubblegum anymore though.

Anyone remember that Triple Choc ice cream?

Had a solid chocolate inner, chocolate ice cream around that, and then a thin, hard chocolate casing (ala Choc Wedge) around it.

I remember before they decided to put water into bottles for $, we would have home made slippery slides and sprinkler systems and we would laugh and spray each other with the hose on a hot day. Now water is a boom industry of which our good friends in the parliment make millions of dollars in taxes from. Ah water, if you see some put it away, one day it will be worth yuptillions :smt003
