i know, its shit quality and you cant see much hardy. But i have spoken with quite a few people, and got a blow by blow account on email of some shit that went down at subbass too and none of it was warranted, provoked or fucking cool at all.

i am even told that the cops decided to do some 'revenge' due to some cars being trashed earlier in the week, but this is all heresay.

the stories are still coming. there is NO PLACE for this kind of action due to SOUND complaints. end of story imo.

gripe to work - fuckin over it and then some. is it too much to even expect a thank you these days? apparently it is. i manage people in my role and i am able to admit when wrong, thank people for their work even if we are getting paid to do it, and ask people if they are unhappy with how things are being done, or explain as to why they have to be done a certain why. its not fuckin rocket science or even cause for breaking a sweat, and it makes people feel better about themselves and their work. fuckin fuck sticks stupid fuckin arse clown mother fuckers get a fuckin clue, there is a fuckin reason why people are quitting, you are losing on average one person every two to three weeks you stupid cock suckers

Everything I see, everything I hear and everything I know and understand is starting to really weigh me down. If it weren't for the support of several incredible people I'd have done myself in already. I loathe humanity, our impact, our ignorance and our greed. Work is starting to break my heart because ecosystems are now at the point of no return.
I wanted to be a hero. I wanted to be the center of attention. I wanted the glory, I wanted the fame. I wanted the pretty girls to come up and say, "Hi, I see that you're good at Centipede."

gripe of the night - those kids have decided the river next to my house is a great place for parties. this time was a little stereo, which wasn't too bad, although I heard it throughout the night - but a fucking drum circle at 4.30 am! woke up kid up too, and there a family with 2 week old baby on our street too. and drunk gits wandering our street shouting at nothing. its so self centered

worried its becoming a habit

It's all about tolerance. Rivers and open spaces should be utilised I reckon.
Understandably the perpetuators need to show a little more consideration.
But if the kids can't rave with small stereos, it's pretty grim for Sound System culture.
I wonder what sort of effect council permits and noise pollution issues would of had on Bloc Parties if Hip Hop began in Northcote?

I agree on reasonable tolerance. Like I said, a bit of bass sound that I can hear, but switch off to, and distant yells and stuff dont phase me. (If it was every week on the other hand... and my suspicion is that the system will just get bigger next time.)

but shouting outside my bedroom window, and loud drumming at a daft time - nope, not on. there's a balance of a reasonable (not a perfect) nights sleep with people having fun for sure, but waking up kids, not good.

IMO its the difference between having some fun in a good spot and just clearly excessive and unnecessary behaviour, in times or places that are obviously going to disturb people.

BRUTAL did an excellent job of finding a site to meet their requirements whilst keeping under the radar last night. Didn't seem like the sound was going to attract attention from neighbours apart from the shift-workers in the railyards.

GOTD: Back on the fucking job market for the third year running. Predictions have applicant/position ratio at around 4:1 this year :?

You'd think that repetition would make this easier to deal with, but alas no. Fuck me, does the uncertainty get its tentacles into everything. Trying to stay afloat, not having much success.... :(

Thanks D, sensible words indeed. They're a bit thin on the ground around here - my student friends have no idea what it means to see your career with its head on the chopping block, and my academic friends know all too fucken well what it means and just clam up in PTSD terror. MB to the rescue :)

Right

So I just fucked something up royally. In my single minded pursuit of a goal I forgot to use my actual brain.

Now I have that thing where I'm trying to move onto other things but can't stop thinking about that mistake and it's stopping me from doing anything at all.

Its not right Lizzy, its really not right. Just cos you have some letters next to your name apparently gives you the right to be a fuck wit. Will read article, thanks. I need a laugh. At a point where walking out could be the next thing I do. Ive already smashed up the toilets, fuck that felt good, kicked the shit out of one of the doors, twice, until I broke it. Get a lot of satisfaction going into that loo and seeing the broken latch.

Pack of cunts, eat a dick.
