breaks diversified. like dubstep has. subgenres aren't a bad thing.
you can choose not to like them, but that doesn't mean lots of other people don't.
they wouldn't exist otherwise. alot of great producers jumped ship from breaks due to lack of $ or boredom as you well know but some are going back to it (kraymon etc) as well as dabbling in pushing the boundaries and creating new genres.

i have always liked some psytrance; there's some pretty amazing intricate stuff out there, both mnml/prog and mxml, & lots of awesome synthwork.
and there's lots i hate too.

i like the fact that psybreaks gets psyheads into breaks and visa versa too.
plus the likes of hedflux, luqas, andy faze etc are not just whacking a halftime beat or break behind a psy melody/bass, they're creating something new.
phat (sub)bass-heavy psy with leads chopped around the beat etc.
