Fabric / Fabriclive CD series APPRECIATION!!!

Post by Hardy »

I love these mixes. Always class, no matter what the style (the one exception being the J Majik and Grooverider ones).

Been absolutely caning the Krafty Kuts (34) mix.

Also especially dig The Herbalizer, Meat Katie, Glimmers, and the new Marcus Intalex ones.

Your faves?

Great Cd series, Iv got heaps of these that i really like and replay often.

Hip Hop

Scratch Perverts one is sick until it gets the the insanely GAY radiohead song and teh clowned out circus dnb at the end. I hate the dnb on it, wish it was all uk feeling hip hop.

Deadly Avenger and Spinbad ones are pretty good hip hop vibes.

DNB

High Contrast one is aids on a cd petri dish - 20 of the most generic songs ever. Alone each song is good but together its blleeerrggghhh. As mentioned JMajik Grooverioder and Fabio ones flat out suck. Andy C and Hype is allright, (actually when I forst got it i wore out teh bacteria into tombraider mix - yes lol)

Breakbeat

Tayo, Plumps and Freestylers ones are sick. Best breakbeat mixes around covering all styles of breaks pretty much.

Fashionable Premo Style

Hmm I love the Diplo one, great party music done right with a heavy 80's electro sway.

Spank Rock one is err...premo, but good fun - needs more justice

The only one I liked was the Digweed one. The rest I found very unimpressive.

29 CUTCOPY is freakin cool

It's so groovin'
has this kind 70s80s90s sound and I don't mean like commercial radio.
I mean the whole disk sounds like is has been dumped to tape in the mastering and lotts cool synthage.

It is a genius listen.

and grows on ya too.

Although it's not really a good DJ mix, I like the John Peel one.

Gotta say Plump Dj's would be the fave but the Stanton Warriors one is up there.
Then all of these:
Scratch Perverts
Herbalizer
High Contrast
Freestylers
Krafty Kuts
Evil Nine
Marcus Intalex
Meat Katie
Dj Format

Such a good series and really never disappoint me.

i've found the quality to be a bit up and down, really! there have been some good ones though - the current intalex one is a good example.

no 18 - Andrew weatherall - massive mix, dating now

fabriclive:
no 15: nitin sawhney - just builds and builds.
