The dairy pushers pay dietitians, doctors, and researchers to endorse dairy products, spending more than $300 million annually, just at the national level, to retain a market for their products. The dairy industry provides free teaching materials to schools and pays sports stars, celebrities, and politicians to push an agenda based on profit, not public health. Dr. Walter Willett, veteran nutrition researcher at the Harvard School of Public Health, says that calcium consumption via dairy-product intake "has become like a religious crusade," overshadowing true preventive measures such as physical exercise. To hear the dairy industry tell it, if you consume three glasses of milk daily, your bones will be stronger and you will be able to rest assured that osteoporosis is not in your future. Not so.

But so does the Soy industry where the mass produced soy milk is absolutely laided with pesticides and poisons etc.

Osteoporosis due to calcium loss from bones is mainly due to the sulphur content in meat & casein protein in milk that cause calcium to be lost in the urine - the countries with the highest meat & dairy consumption are those with the highest levels of brittle bones.

Soy milk, soy ice-cream and soy cheese are all good too, with great taste, health benefits, environmental responsibility and a clear conscience.

Bunch of psycho, delusional terrorists. It's great that they stand for what they believe in, but they take shit waaaay too far. I hate how they publicly denounce and humiliate people based on flimsy evidence or those whom don't 100% conform to their beliefs. They don't raise awareness, they force their beliefs. I mean what kind of fucking scumbags would run this ad days after the real event happened?

Raw milk is perfectly healthy. But we're not allowed to drink it, of course.

Instead we get this pasteurised rubbish with no health benefits at all.

As someone who's been drinking soy milk for the past 5 years, I can speak honestly on the subject.

I'M FUCKING OVER IT!

My wife is truly unhappy that I'm back on non-fat reg milk, but you know what? I like the taste. Everyone can tell me til they're blue in the face how much better soy milk is for me or how many processed steroids were put into the cow to make the reg milk I love, but no matter which way you try to sell it, soy milk just doesn't taste anywhere near as good as reg milk.

Rice milk sucks balls, too. Been there, done that. Tastes worse than soy milk.

I'm living once and I'll enjoy my cereal, coffee and ice cream the way I want to...straight from the utter of a cow (with a little science conveniently thrown in just to mutate me). Also, I saw a report that soy milk makes dudes grow tits and I dont want my c cup hittin double d anytime soon.

The fuckers just don't see the pros in this thing. Operation Cockroach is there to PROMOTE the benefits and goodness that cockroaches bring to mankind. That was the point of the whole thing. That, and the money.

There's plenty of arguments against soy milk too.

I'm undecided. It's probably not good for you, but I doubt it's particularly bad.

ugh soy is horrible to my palate. bonsoy latte made well can just about take but that's all- it's too grainy or something

organic full cream ftw

my friend is part of a co-op and bought shares in a jersey cow so they get organic unpast, unhomog milk for like 2 bucks for 2L. tasted a bit funny but still better than soy

but isnt milk only pasturised (held a certain temp? 32c i think?) so it keeps longer? Pasturised Milk has a bugger all best before time anyways dosnt it...so selling it unpasturised means it would go off real quick im assuming.

i only buy organic milk for coffee.
all other milk is bonsoy, i dun care how much it is, cant even compare to 'so shit'

could not live without cheese, or icecream.

agree that the benefits of milk are far outwieghed by the downfalls,
but soy has also had some controversy, ive heard a diet of only soy products stops humans ability to assimilate calcium at all?

that said, soy is SO much better for the environment, the gut, and you can make so many products from it that it really shbould be more of a farming and eating priority for most...

pretty sure that's the case... But, I think that also there's some natural bacteria and enzymes which basically don't keep at all or are bad for you.

Homogenisation is completely unnessecary... but it changes the consistancy, taste, appearance and pretty much all the things you claim to like about milk.

so to all those who say you like milk the way it is, I say YOU ARE BEING FOOLED!!!

gnat, the fresh milk you're talking about doesn't taste funny... that's how it's meant to taste.

If you really want to freak yourself out, see how much fresh water goes into making your litre of milk. It's not just the 2 litres of water that a cow needs directly to produce the 1 litre of milk, but the water required to grow the food the cow needs to eat to produce the 1 litre of milk. It's very disproportionate....and scary, in a way.

But I'm still drinking it and will spill it on Bob Brown's gravestone made out of hemp and wheat grass in honour of all the greens who fought the good fight for me...when the day comes.

however that all depends on if the cows are fed grains or if the are fed grass.

Interesting. obviously that info is all based on milk produced in the US.

I'm lactose intolerant, and the best way to remain less so is drink a little bit of milk every now and again.

Sounds odd, but it works.
