Haven't recorded in a while. Taking over there a basic setup so I can write. Look forward to checking out what's going on there music-wise, see what comes of it.

Spewing. I was following the 808 auction from work. I lost mine to a pawnshop last year. $285 is a good price... if your buying I spose.

I think the SP808 is one of the most underrated pieces of music equipment about for it's price, always in the shadow of the MPCs.. The sequencer is useless for the file sizes, but as a phrase sampler, combined with the FX system on this, midi up the faders with Ableton and it's damn good for live. There's also a mean synth under the hood, and the d-beam is decent for transposing/builds.

The synth and 16 beat step writer is really good. 100 user defined presets. I found it to be a handy piece of kit for live, home production and in when doing sessions in recording studios for other artists.
Gonna keep my eyes and ears out for a replacement.
Did you import wav.files from computer using zip disc or using the digital upgrade interface?

Agree, loved the old school step sequencing, had a nice slide. I used a zip drive and the software for converting .wavs, was a bit clunky but did the job. Shame they never evolved the EX, a dedicated HD version, more rotaries.. they pop up every now and again on ebay at a pretty decent price, mine sold for $285.
