Re: gigs in japan
Hatsudai, you're a legend - I was just about the PM the same info!
To be honest, not all that much exciting at the moment in terms of the music I'm into, but I'll keep an ear to the ground - any particular preferences? Try ferreting out the smaller gigs/clubs; they rock more than the big ones.

Re: gigs in japan
I see what you did there - are those tiny laneway bars (like fit 10 people) kind of round the corner from the main drag of kabukicho?Hatsudai wrote:FixedFoundationStepper wrote:Must go to Kabuki-Cho
anyways, i thought the kabuki theatre was one of the more memorable tokyo experiences I had

He he Kabuki Cho and The Kabuki are fairly bipolar experiences I suppose but both have their fair share of drama..FoundationStepper wrote:I see what you did there - are those tiny laneway bars (like fit 10 people) kind of round the corner from the main drag of kabukicho?Hatsudai wrote:FixedFoundationStepper wrote:Must go to Kabuki-Cho

Ashamedly enough I haven't been to the kabuki yet (or sumo for that matter) I guess when we decide to come back to oz they will be on the list of things to do.
yer Aroes Golden Gai or Piss alley ( better than it sounds) are both good to stop into, will deffo discuss over lunch!
Re: gigs in japan
Kabuki and sumo are a treat - I got quite smashed at the sumo as you can BYO ales, but some old guy was snoring behind me at the kabuki the one time I went there; added a sense of stereo. Golden Gai is definitely worthwhile checking out, too - old WW2 Tokyo amidst the modernity.
