Best Mix Ever Any Genre

Post by JAMESSSS »

I know its hard so you are allowed a few - but not so many you don't have to decide.

For me it is:

BLIM Toroto Halloween Mix
Evil Nine Dex n FX Mix
Adam Freeland On Tour (Possibly the best planned mix ever even if it isn't real)
Adam Freeland 2001 Essential Mix (got me into my sound)
James Lavelle Global Underground Romania

Honorable mention: Mr Scruff Breezeblock and High Contrast Essential Mix.

Word. Except the Andy C and Hype 'Fabric' mix... Andy C is his usual kick-ass self, whereas Hype just shit me to tears with his boring, monotonous scratch routine.

Also... Adam F @ Spellbound, Shy FX / Skibba / Fearless @ The Prophecy radio.

I disagree on any Andy C mix.

I have many Andy C mixes which are good for the time they come out, but in the end are just a whole bunch of well mixed bangers.

I don't think I will be going back to most of them in three years.

Of course there are some exceptions, and the man is still the best DJ ever.

Avalanches - Gimix
Spans the genres bigtime!

Any of the older Progression Sessions/Logical Progression mixes (seems like a popular choice). That one that starts off with System Sylence is my fave.

Chemical Brothers - Radio 1 Anti-Nazi mix. Very similar to the Brothers Gonna Work it Out mix, with some different tunes.

Plus, I've got a couple of mixed CDs from some Scottish club called Optimo. Lots of weird music and much cheese from all over the place condensed into lovely 70 ish minute packages.

kenny ken with GQ....that studio mix they did in 95ish?
quick knows it;)...."6 million wayz to die....GQ:"and i aint gonna choose any"
yup gotta agree with those ones. still listen to both regularly and the vibe for that awol live cd is incredible! always gets me up.
ive got the kenny ken with GQ labelled as jungle megamix zone? summit like that anyways. but yeh that ones killer to.
and those made me think of the kenny ken w/ stevie hyper d set @ mach one (dunno what year) where he intros with superman.

and mickey finn w/ hyper d @ telepathy 94.

all great mixes that get me jumping around and smiling

i dont even like conrad anymore, i think he's lost his touch m8. he sounds alot better in the studio.
imo glo has totally lost its 'sound'. if u look at the trax that were on the PG 1-5 u'll see that nearlly every tune on there are signed to glo. now have a look at the tracklistings very similar to alot of the tunes that heaps of dj's are playing.

anyways im not complaining im just not that happy about the way the glo has gone...and same with alot of people, especially the top artists that used to be signed there!
oh well... all good though bcoz musnt forget 'its all matter of opinion'

Progression Sessions 4.

I rate 1 - 4, they went downhill in the selection markedly afterwards.

Nick Warren's Back To Mine mix is still my absolute favourite in that series.
