Dnb/ Breaks photography

Post by drew »

Hi all..

im just doing a shout out to anyone willing to share ANY high res(300dpi +) photos from any recent dnb/ breaks event.

i am currently doing 2nd vis comm(graphic design) at monash and for one of my briefs i am doing a melbourne dnb/ breaks magazine. i got a few photos of my own, but not enough.
so if anyone is willing to let my use their photography it would be much appriciated. your photos will not be heavily manipulated, only ajustments to the levels, hue and cropping. you will also be credited in the mock up of the zine and i will PM you if your photography is used, just so that you know.

the zine will not be published for the public and this is not for any personal financial benifit.

so if anyone is willing to let my use ur photography, you can either PM me or email to [email protected] or [email protected]

example can be found at:
http://www.deviantart.com/view/32386087/
cd design for scholtzy and peteybear

any help is much appreciated!

cheers,
drew

Have a chat to Lil Stormer. She has been taking quite a few photos recently. She has a link in her signature to some of the photos she has taken.

Quark XPress? InDesign is the go, lad. much less heartbreak.

(mind you, the last time I even opened Quark 6, it was to open and convert files from (first) Emery Frost and (then) Cato Purnell. go figure. :?)

I work for a design firm in Sydney. my day-to-day work is mainly web work (PHP/.NET app development and CSS+XHTML based layout), but I also do pre-press on some of the print jobs along with other bits and bobs (colour correction, retouching, redrawing vector artwork, etc).

:)

God no. Sorry they're none of them Cato Purnell. Imagine that!! Celebrated graphic designer gone bad!!

No they are just some shockers i found when i was doing some research. You can really go pear-shaped with logos hey. Especially when the desiger tries to get too literal with the imagery.

For example

Image

You can just imaging the brief. We want to represent hills and wineries and the environment.

if you mean the BHP Billiton logo, there's a funny story behind it. we were doing all the documents for the 'new look' demerged BHP & Billiton entity.

a very similar logo to the final one was found soon after the new logo was launched, too.

FutureBrand FHA made a fortune out of that branding job.
